The Henry McWane house at 214 Cabell Street is located near the heart of the Historic Daniel's Hill District in Lynchburg, Virginia. Built by Henry McWane, one of Lynchburg's leading citizens, it has been painstakingly restored to the original state when it was completed in 1892, down to the original paint colors. The asphalt of the modern day street has been removed to uncover the original brick and has returned the streetscape to that which is reminiscent of the community before the 20th c. The house is located about a block away from one of the trails leading, via foot bridge, to the Blackwater Creek Trail, one of the natural hiking and bike trails of Lynchburg's park system. |
